How to Fix: Call of Duty Black Ops II - Mouse Sensitivity

Call of Duty: Black Ops II - PS3 Cover

Black Ops II

It happens a lot when using a high DPI gaming mouse. And in the case of Call of Duty: Black Ops II, it exists too.

Because you can't modify the config files. CoD Black Ops 2 comes with an encrypted configuration file.

The mouse does not move well. It could be because of mouse acceleration or input lag.

You can solve it using the following tweaks in this guide.

-- Update your video card drivers
-- Turn off Sync Every Frame
-- Turn off Mouse Acceleration in the Control Panel

If you have two Video Cards, (such as integrated and dedicated video cards) then make sure the correct one is being used to reduce lag.

How to Fix - Call of Duty: Black Ops II - Lag / Slow Map Loading

Call of Duty Black Ops IICoD: Black Ops 2 runs well on most machines.

It doesn't require the newest, most powerful hardware and even an older graphics card / video card or CPU processor can handle it.

It works well on all Windows OS's -- Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 and even if you are using Steam.

So if your game is stuttering, frames are skipping, or you just have a low frame per second (FPS) rate, then it may not be your computer's fault.

-- Lower your resolution
-- Disable shadows in the game
-- Disable Sync Every Frame / VSYNC
-- Disable Ambient Occlusion
-- Set textures to Automatic
-- Update your video card drivers through the NVIDIA or ATI website (the current beta drivers work well)
So for single player and multiplayer users -- this will help. It will also help if when you are aiming down the sight of a gun and experience a drop in frame rate or even have some mouse input lag.

Many laptops and notebooks that are out there have two graphics card -- an integrated graphics card AND a dedicated graphics card -- that it switches between for conserving battery power. You can use the AMD ATI Catalyst Control Center or the NVIDIA Control Panel to solve the problem. Ensure that the dedicated card is being used instead of the integrated card. Check the "Global Settings" area.

Anyway, that's how you fix Call of Duty: Black Ops II lag!

Solved: Call of Duty: Black Ops II - Fails to Launch / Black Screen

Call of Duty: Black Ops II

Just get CoD Black Ops 2 and encounter a black screen? Did you launch the game and it didn't open? Or maybe it just crashed with an error after you tried to play it -- such as at the intro / opening cinematic scene.

No biggie. You should be able to fix it.

Follow the below methods to troubleshoot it away.

This works for people who get the DLC Packs (such as from the Season Pass) or gets the game from Steam or has the Black Ops 2 Collector's Editions, which are: Hardened Edition, Care Package, and the Digital Deluxe Edition.

How to Fix Call of Duty: Black Ops II Launch Failure

There are several tweaks you can perform to try to fix this problem.
-- If you got the game via Steam, then try to revalidate / validate your game cache
-- Right click the game's EXE -> properties -> enable compatibility mode for Windows XP OR, if you are on Windows 8, then try setting the compatibility to Windows 7 (works for 32-bit / x86 and 64-bit / x64)
-- Run the game in administrator mode / admin mode (this is never ideal, however)
-- Update your video card drivers to the latest version, as these updates can solve game compatibility issues with your graphics card (works for all graphics cards -- intel, nvidia, ati, etc). This often helps with lag too, so if you end up experiencing lag, this can increase your frames per second (fps)
-- Get the latest version of DirectX

To expand on the DirectX issue, a lot of the time when a game does not run, it is because you are missing an important file. To ensure this is not the case, run the following included files below. The Steam paths are:
\Steamapps\Common\Call of Duty Black Ops II\redist\vcredist_x86.exe
\Steamapps\Common\Call of Duty Black Ops II\redist\DirectX\dxsetup.exe

Hopefully some of these suggestions helped solve the problem for you!

Dark Souls Prepare to Die Edition - Remap Controller

Dark Souls PC Cover

Remap Dark Souls Cover

Want to map / remap your Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 (PS3) gamepad for the recently released Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition (PC)?

1) Install MotionInJoy
2) Go to drivers tab and select your PS3 / Xbox controller
3) Go to the profiles tab and choose xbox 360 setting

Allegedly, you should select Xbox 360 even if you are using a PS3 controller instead of a Xbox 360 wired or wireless controller.

This should help some of you a lot! As we are use to the running button being in a certain spot.

Experiment with the supplied drivers if it is not working.

But the instructions supplied seem to work well for most people already.

Should work on all Windows -- Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 -- and it doesn't matter if you got Dark Souls from Steam or not.

Dark Souls - How to Make 1080p Resolution

Dark Souls Cover

Dark Souls

Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition is one of the most graphically beautiful games out there. You may want to enjoy it at 1920x1080 resolution. Follow below.

This is a great PC hack / mod so enjoy Steam users.

1) Download the latest DSFix
2) Put the files into Dark Souls directory where the EXE is located
3) Open DSfix.ini with notepad and edit the resolution to what you want

Nice HD resolution right? Hope you enjoy playing Dark Souls in 1080p! Nice high definition.

That's a luxury that you don't get in the console versions!

Note though that it can have an effect on the framerate / fps of Dark souls: Prepare to Die Edition. That's obvious though, but if your computer is good then you should be at a steady 30 fps.

Dark Souls - Corrupt Saved Data Fix

Dark Souls

How to fix Dark Souls corrupt save

With the epic game Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition out on PC / Steam (it was only out on console before -- Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 [PS3]) -- you may be pulling out your hair from two things: how hard the game is, and...

When playing the game, you may have encountered one of the most frustrating errors of all time...a Failed to Load Save Data error

Scary, isn't it? A tip is to exit Dark Souls and reopen it. Do NOT let it attempt to repair itself. If you do, then backup your corrupted data first.

To help prevent this error, make sure to exit the game through the MENU. Beware of crashes, as your saved data can get corrupted easily from that.

It may be too late for you if that doesn't help (and it likely didn't). And if so, you should use the following to make automated backups of your saved data from here: Saved Data Backup

You can recover your Dark Souls saved data this way if any problems happen.
